Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

This is a working level position utilizing technical skills and judgment while performing a diverse range of diagnostic procedures & duties within the scope of practice of a Combined Laboratory/X-ray Technologist I. Current experience in Diagnostic Imaging, ECG, Holter Monitor, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine & Specimen Procurement is required. The position includes days, & weekends; required to take call and live within 30 minutes of the facility when on call. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. This includes the ability to demonstrate tact & courtesy when dealing with coworkers, patients, physicians & leadership. Requires strong organizational skills & ability to assume responsibility, work independently & promote good teamwork under pressure and in emergencies. Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload & adapt to stressful situations by showing initiative, good judgment & attention to detail. Practices effective infection control, & safety techniques as applicable. Proficient computer skills. Demonstrate desire & actions to further own knowledge relating to professional development. Ability to interpret, explain & apply applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures Receptive to new ideas & change. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory & X-ray Technologist ACCLXT. Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating and troubleshooting in the past 2 years: Diagnostic Imaging- Kodak 850 CR Reader, Carestream DRX Ascend X-ray unit and Shimadzu Portable for mobile x-ray. ECG-Mac 5500. Lab- Vitros 250, ACL Elite Pro, Sysmex XS, Clinitek Status, I-Stat, and Triage MeterPro, ID Now. Computer-Muse, Agfa PACS, and Meditech.
