Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a high school diploma. Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program, which includes specimen handling. Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of WHMIS and SDS. Manual dexterity for manipulation of specimens. Must be able to give and follow verbal and written direction in English as well as work independently to organize workflow and identify priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:Beaker and Cerner Millennium Lab Information Systems experience. One year public health experience. Excellent comprehension, verbal, and written skills with attention to detail, critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills, excellent at planning, organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking, strong commitment to customer service, able to work independently and in a team contributing to a positive work environment. Flexible, able to work within an environment of change.
