Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
Additional Required Qualifications:To qualify for this position, you must possess a grade 12 high school diploma and be a graduate of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Training program. A minimum of five years of experience working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant is required. Candidate must demonstrate thorough knowledge of the pre-analytical processes and safety/WHMIS/infection control procedures. Candidate must be able to operate Windows based computer programs (Word, Excel). Effective time management skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong conflict resolution skills and effective team building skills are required. Candidate must demonstrate initiative and adaptability. The successful candidate must represent Laboratory Medicine and Pathology in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.
Preferred Qualifications:Additional relevant education and courses are an asset. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is an asset. Experience with Connect Care/ Epic/ Beaker/Rover is an asset. An understanding of Quality System Essentials is an asset. Experience with document writing and management is an asset.
