Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Moderate knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology. Heavy lifting up to 25 lbs, capable of standing or walking for long periods. Able to work with and exposure to chemicals and gloves. Any Canadian equivalency to English 30 or 33 or CLBA score of Benchmark 8 completed within the last six months. Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required (i.e. more than 75% of time on the job).
Preferred Qualifications:Recent Anatomic Pathology experience. Experience within the last 2 years preferred. Additional Anatomy and Physiology courses, within the last 10 years preferred. Basic LIS and Microsoft computer skills.
