Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Have a good understanding of quality control theory and application, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting hematology and coagulation analyzers. Good cell morphology skills. Must have the ability to listen, comprehend and orally respond to or relay information, directions or questions in person, over the phone or in writing, in an accurate, clear and concise manner. Candidate must be well organized, flexible and able to prioritize and work under pressure. Computer literacy and keyboarding skills required. Must possess the ability to promote positive working relationships. Demonstrates and promotes the APL values of Kindness, Inclusion, Innovation, Agility and Accuracy. Work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with Connect Care / Epic / Beaker. Recent experience in a high volume Hematology lab is preferred. Familiarity with Sysmex XN-9000 and STA-R Evolution is an asset. Experience with CSF and body fluid counts and differentials an asset.
