Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Able to work with exposure to chemicals and gloves. Chemicals may include but not limited to: formalin, xylene, bleach. Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required (i.e. more than 75% of time on the job). Able to lift up to 25lbs. Able to withstand extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking. Any Canadian equivalency to English 30 or 33 or CLBA score of Benchmark 8 completed within the last 6 months. Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, satisfactory to APL valid within the last 3 months.
Preferred Qualifications:Anatomic Pathology experience within the past 10 years. Experience within the last 2 years preferred. Experience with performing cryotomy. Experience grossing up to level IV. Experience collecting and processing renal biopsies. Experience performing and assessing special stains. Basic LIS and Microsoft computer skills.
