Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

The ability to effectively communicate in English. Minimum of 5 years full time laboratory and diagnostic imaging experience. BLS Certification. Proven success performing administrative/supervisory functions in a diagnostic setting. Demonstrated desire and actions to further own knowledge relating to profession. Demonstrated experience with method or equipment evaluations including statistical analysis. Training and/or demonstrated experience related to quality improvement, conflict resolution and customer service. Extensive experience in use of computer systems, software applications. Experience in performing incident investigations and implementing corrective actions. Experience with Accreditation standards, implementation and addressing deficiencies. Demonstrated experience and or knowledge of Laboratory Safety practices. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, direct work assignments, and adapt to stressful situations using tact and diplomacy. Ability to influence others through well-developed oral and written communications Ability to interpret, explain and apply applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures. Receptive to new ideas and change. Good working knowledge of the HSAA collective agreements. Ability to work independently, and within a team, effectively managing his/her time and setting priorities when faced with multiple tasks and deadlines over a period of time.

Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. Completion of leadership courses, including effective team building and conflict resolution. Experience with development and supervision of effective teams. Experience in Transfusion Medicine. Working with; Vitros 350, Vitros ECI, Dxh600, ACL Elite Pro, ISTAT, Triage, Ortho Gel method.
