COVID-19 Immunization Requirements

Q1: How do I obtain my proof of immunization?

You can access your vaccine records two ways:

  1. Online through MyHealth Records. This process can take a couple of weeks.
  2.  Paper record received at your vaccination appointment. If you lost your paper copy, please contact your immunization provider.

  • Pharmacy or physician's office where you received your vaccination.
  • AHS Clinic - call 811 to request a copy of your record mailed to you.

Q2: What is the criteria for receiving an accommodation?

Individuals applying for employment and Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) employees who are unable to be immunized due to a medical reason, or for another protected ground under the Alberta Human Rights Act will be reasonably accommodated, up to the point of undue hardship, in accordance with the AHS Workplace Accommodation Policy.

Q3: What does it mean to be fully immunized?

You are considered fully immunized 14 days after the second dose of a two-dose vaccine series; or one dose of a one-dose vaccine series valid by Alberta Health.

  • For vaccines requiring two doses (AstraZeneca, Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech), this means 14 days after the second dose.
  • For the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which requires just one dose, this means 14 days after the first and only dose.

Q4: How do I book my COVID vaccine?

You can book your appointment three ways:

  1. Book online to access all vaccination centres and pharmacies in the province.
  2. Call Health Link at 811.
  3. Contact a Physician Clinic.
