Your Opportunity:

Important Information: Hours of work are 16:00 to 00:15. Monday to Friday. Operating 24/7, the Pre and Post Analytics department plays a key role in the delivery of customer focused laboratory services and is vital to the operation of the laboratory. Admin Support I (ASI) team members in this position, are the first point of contact for specimens arriving at the DSC Hub Lab. Core responsibilities include: unpacking and movement of samples from the 1st floor to the 4th floor of the building using carts and dumbwaiters, double checking empty transport containers, replenishing transportation supplies and returning empty containers for distribution back to sending sites. The position requires high endurance for standing and the ability for to frequently push/pull a rolling cart weighing up to 200 lbs. and lift specimen transport containers weighing up to 40 lbs. during the entire shift. Other duties of the ASI may include, but are not limited to, scanning requisitions into the electronic retention system, validating, and auditing. Performing daily quality assurance checks, troubleshoots missing or illegible barcodes, daily cleaning, and maintenance of equipment. Maintains confidentiality and privacy through all stages of workflow. Demonstrates a high standard of customer service by assessing and meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders. Work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. Follows established policies and procedures to ensure the privacy and safety of customers, coworkers, and self. Ability to identify problems, apply sound judgement, and proactively takes the initiative to address issues.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Computer and keyboarding skills. Previous experience with heavy materials (>40lbs) distribution including lifting and maneuvering large rolling carts (>200lbs). First Aid/CPR (required to complete after hiring).

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with logistics tracking systems. Effective verbal and written communication skills. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
