Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Genetics. Minimum five years of experience as a Cytogenetic Technologist, Clinical Genetics Technologist or Lab Scientist. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Effective communicator with strong influential skills, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services. Superior organizational and time management skills with proven ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines under stressful conditions. Demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:Master of Science in Genetics or related discipline would be an asset. Minimum five years of experience in a clinical molecular genetics lab. Experience in cytogenetic techniques would be beneficial. Certified by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science in Cytogenetics or Clinical Genetics Technology. Three years of leadership experience, preferably in a clinical genetics laboratory.
