Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree, in a Genetics-related field. Minimum five years of experience in cytogenetic and/or molecular laboratories. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Effective communicator with strong influential skills, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services. Superior organizational and time management skills with proven ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines under stressful conditions. Demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:Master of Science in Genetics or related discipline would be an asset. Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science certification in Clinical Genetics or Cytogenetics. Minimum five years of experience in a diagnostic cytogenetic or molecular genetics laboratory. Three years of leadership experience, preferably in a clinical genetics laboratory.
