Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and take call by responding within 30 minutes. This position may require travel to La Crete lab for coverage. Must demonstrate high level of organizational, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills. An ability to work well with patients and all members of the healthcare team. Entering, reviewing, reporting, and distributing patient results in an accurate, complete, timely, and efficient manner. Assessing unusual tests results and proceeding with established procedures for follow up with senior staff, pathologists, and physicians. Operation, calibration, and performance of basic troubleshooting with selected instrumentation and reporting equipment malfunction. Performing all required Quality Control procedures and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. Investigating and documenting Quality Control problems and following up with Charge Technologist. Receives and reviews imaging requests for complete pertinent clinical and order information. Provides patient, public, and staff radiation protection and follows the principles of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA). Follows all established safety policies and procedures. Participation in training of new staff and students. Demonstrates interest in professional growth and be prepared to maintain competency of technical skills.
