Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent, relevant experience as a Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologist performing procedures in a core laboratory and general diagnostic imaging, including hospital affiliated training programs. Laboratory experience includes hematology, expanded chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen collection, preparation and referral of samples. Recent cardiology experience including ECG and Holter Monitor examinations. The ability to effectively communicate in English and provide excellent customer service is essential. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility required. The ability to work independently as well as promote good teamwork is required. Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and attention to detail essential. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations prioritizing workload, demonstrating tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff, and physicians required. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety techniques as applicable. Proficient computer skills. Ability to interpret, explain and apply applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures, and maintain patient confidentiality. Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification. Demonstrated desire and actions to further own knowledge relating to profession. Receptive to new ideas and change. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment references.
Preferred Qualifications:Familiar with Sysmex XN-550, ACL Elite Pro, Vitros XT3400, I-Stat, Triage Meter, Clinitek Status. Recent experience with Connect Care, Wellsky, Agfa PACS, Muse, and Cardioday.
