As a Combined Laboratory and X‑Ray Technologist I at the Westlock Healthcare Centre, you will be part of a collaborative rural healthcare team that provides essential diagnostic services to the community and surrounding region. In this role, you will perform site‑specific manual and automated laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging exams, cardiology procedures, and related duties in accordance with standards set by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X‑Ray Technologists (ACCLXT), the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA), and the Health Professions Act. Description:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant must have a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Strong technical skills and adaptability is imperative in this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working within a Healthcare setting. Connect Care LIS Experience. Phlebotomy and ECG experience, Vitros XT3400, Access II, Sysmex XN550, ACL Elite Pro, ISTAT Triage, and Clinitek Advantus are also preferred.
