Your Opportunity:

This is a Multisite CLXT position primarily serving the communities of Milk River and Picture Butte. Milk River, named for the milky color of the water. It is situated about 300 kilometers southeast of Calgary, the Town of Milk River, (population about 830) has the essential amenities, K-12 school, and provides a warm, welcoming "work family," at the Milk River Health Centre that prioritizes ongoing learning, collaboration, and mutual support. Milk River is the only place you can reach the US border in 10 minutes' drive. Visit the spectacular Waterton National Park, see ancient Indigenous stone writings. Picture Butte is an excellent place to live if you value a tight-knit, safe, and highly affordable small-town lifestyle. Located just 20 minutes north of Lethbridge, it offers the peace of rural living with quick access to big-city amenities. It is an agricultural community with a strong reliance on the farming sector. The Picture Butte golf course is one of Southern Alberta’s most recognized and respected golf facility. In addition to your strong coordination, organization, and communication skills, you have experience with lab procedures, diagnostic imaging, and cardiology procedures. As a member of the inter-professional team, you will be responsible for monitoring the collecting, analyzing, and reporting of biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, and performing ECGs. Relocation assistance may be available with a Return of Service Agreement. This vacancy may be eligible for recruitment incentive.

Description:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Record Check including Vulnerable Sector (level 2) before they are able to begin working within the organization. The successful applicant must have a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Strong Technical skills and adaptability is imperative in this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent phlebotomy and rural experience are an asset.
