Your Opportunity:
This is a multisite Combined Lab/X-Ray Tech I (CLXT) position serving the communities of Coaldale and Picture Butte. The town of Coaldale is located <20 kms east of the City of Lethbridge. This busy laboratory and Xray department is located within the Coaldale Health Centre and serves the patients of the town and surrounding area. Coaldale is home to the Alberta Birds of Prey Foundation as well as the Gem of the West Museum and is close to many other historic Southern Alberta attractions such as Fort Whoop-Up in Lethbridge. This role follows the established standards and practices defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT), College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and Health Professions Act. This is a Combined Laboratory and Diagnostic position. This Combined lab and X-ray position is a weekday position and serves the patients of Coaldale, Picture Butte and their surrounding area. Coaldale is a multi-staffed site. Picture Butte is a single staff member site. Both sites are located within 30 kms of Lethbridge. This role follows the established standards and practices defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT), College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and Health Professions Act. This is a Combined Laboratory and Diagnostic position.
Description:
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful applicant must have a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Strong technical skills and adaptability is imperative in this position.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems, as well as recent phlebotomy and bench experience is an asset.
