Alberta Precision Laboratories is seeking an individual who is able to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining effective communication, both written and verbal in support of Medical & Scientific Affairs of North Sector. You will work in close partnership with your South Sector counterpart to ensure accurate and timely performance of tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, privileging, appointment, and offboarding of Medical and Scientific Staff at APL. As part of the team that manages the province-wide business of Medical & Scientific Affairs, you will be collaborative and willing to cross-train to ensure team effectiveness and redundancy. The location is negotiable within Alberta and there is opportunity for flexible work arrangements.
Description:
The Medical and Scientific Affairs Coordinator works with a variety of stakeholders in the organization (HR, Finance, APL medical leadership, AHS Medical Affairs, etc.). Accountable to the Lead, Medical and Scientific Affairs and working closely with members of the Chief Medical Laboratory Officer’s leadership team, the Coordinator will assist in managing a range of sensitive and complex issues ranging from interpretation of AHS Staff Bylaws to administrative management of med/sci staff. Responsible for managing AHS Appointment and Privileging for Lab Physicians. Act as first point of contact for medical/scientific staff questions and resolve or triage to Medical Affairs Lead, as applicable. Assist the Medical/Scientific Leadership of North Sector in pro-active workforce planning and recruitment for optimal future state. Coordinate administrative aspects of recruitment activities in collaboration with site administrators as required. This includes the coordination of resume collections, interview guides, participants for interview panels and other logistics required in the selection process, including knowledge and process related to foreign trained recruits. In collaboration with site administrators, coordinate and track Physician Contractor Onboarding for new hire information sharing, IT accesses, and liaise with site administrators. Coordinate probationary assessments and periodic reviews, in consultation with applicable Section Chiefs and Medical Directors, and ensure retention of documentation. Manage Annual Information Verification and Attestation (AIVA) process and update database as applicable.

Post-secondary diploma or degree in Administration or Business. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a related position. Client service experience. Strong attention to detail. Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, have strong organization skills, be an effective communicator (verbal and written), and possess an ability to work under tight deadlines. The APL Medical & Scientific Affairs Team is small, but in need of someone who is comfortable working in a virtual team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Health care experience is preferred.
