Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Grade Twelve (12) diploma or equivalent required. Excellent communication skills both oral and written, with ability to relate information or directions to appropriate personnel in an accurate, clear and concise manner. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required; communication with patients, physicians and other healthcare professionals. Knowledge of Medical Terminology. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Laboratory Information systems (e.g. SunQuest, Epic, WellSky) is an asset. Experience in performing/resulting urinalysis is an asset. Recent phlebotomy experience is an asset.
