Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent. Competency in phlebotomy. May be required to pass a phlebotomy skills challenge to the satisfaction of APL. Knowledge of ECG theory and competency performing ECGs. Data entry proficiency and keyboarding skills. May be required to complete a keyboarding challenge to meet a minimum of 5500 gross keystrokes per hour with at least 90% accuracy. A valid Class 5 driver's license with no restrictions. A Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) will not be accepted. Canadian equivalency to English 30 or 33 or CLBA score of Benchmark 8 completed within the last 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:Mobile MLA experience with collections in LTC within the past 2 years. MLA experience within the past 2 years. 6 months experience performing ECGs within the past 5 years. 3 years of driving experience in Calgary and area. 2 years of phlebotomy experience within the last 6 months. Courses or certificates in conflict resolution, communication, personal leadership, customer service. Knowledge of the Lab Information System and TeleMed program. Working knowledge of MS Office programs.
