Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent, relevant experience performing procedures in a core laboratory. Laboratory experience includes phlebotomy, specimen collection, preparation and referral. Cardiology training and experience including ECG's and Holter Monitors. Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and attention to detail essential. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations prioritizing workload, demonstrating tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff, and physicians required. Practices effective infection control, and safety techniques as applicable. Proficient computer skills. Ability to interpret, explain and apply applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures, and maintain patient confidentiality. Mobile blood collections will be required. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment references.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiar with Clinitek Advantus. Recent experience with Muse and Cardioday. Recent and relevant experience with Epic Beaker. Current registration with CSMLS. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote teamwork. Receptive to new ideas and change.
