Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited MLA course including urinalysis with microscopic analysis, equivalencies may be considered. Urinalysis experience including microscopic analysis is required. Cardiology training and experience including ECG's and Holter Monitors. Able to perform all blood collection procedures including venipuncture, micro-punctures, blood culture collection as well as collections on all patient ages including newborns, pediatrics and geriatrics. Connect care/Epic LIS experience and knowledge is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 1 years' experience in a healthcare setting is preferred and recent experience working at Lacombe Laboratory. MUSE and Cardioday experience. Familiar with Clinitek Advantus. Current registration with CSMLS. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote teamwork.
