Your Opportunity:
You’re a laboratory professional with a keen eye for detail and an affinity for hands-on laboratory practices- just the person we need in the Anatomic Pathology at Edmonton Base Lab! In your role as a Laboratory Assistant I, you will contribute to the team by performing specimen receipt, preparation and handling of pathology specimens for testing, transportation, storage and disposal, reagent preparation and disposal. A focus on quality assurance, critical thinking, and problem-solving is essential. We are seeking a reliable and efficient candidate with strong interpersonal skills. Additional Duties include: routine slide staining, slide sorting and send out, as well as computer and clerical duties. Quality control and operating instruments and performing routine maintenance.
Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Assistant I in Anatomic Pathology is an asset. Beaker requisition entry experience is an asset.
