Your Opportunity:
This position involves a rotating schedule, with weekday shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:15 PM and weekend shifts from 6:30 AM to 2:45 PM. This position is primarily based in the Arthur Child Outpatient Lab and includes responsibilities such as assisting with inpatient collections and supporting various lab duties. Our Pre-Analytical Department plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, responsive diagnostic laboratory services across all clinical areas, including the main acute care hospital, McCaig Tower, North Tower, Grace Women’s Health, the Emergency Department, Ambulatory Clinics, and the Arthur Child Cancer Centre. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent and relevant experience and competency in phlebotomy techniques within the last year. Recent and relevant experience in RRL setting or an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity within the last 2 years. Experience with neonatal skin puncture within the last year. Experience with EPIC. Proficiency in data entry. Experience in outpatient lab one patient flow process. Demonstrates excellent reliability, accuracy, productivity and quality of work in adherence to policies, procedures and performance standards. Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with research data entry and collection. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs. Courses or certificates in personal leadership development, conflict resolution or change management.
