Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an MLA. Recent and relevant experience in an RRL setting. Leadership and customer service experience. Demonstrates excellent reliability, accuracy, productivity and quality of work in adherence to policies, procedures and performance standards. Excellent time management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain composure in difficult situations. Ability to promote and lead a respectful team environment. Recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital. Proven ability to collaborate and resolve conflict. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with payroll, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, e-people and budgeting. Experience with quality control and quality assurance procedures and working within accreditation standards. Experience in neonatal skin puncture. Experience in pediatric and/or neonatal venipuncture. Experience in training MLAIs and competency assessments. Courses or certificates in personal leadership development. Courses or training in process improvement or change management.
