Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate from a Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Sciences (CSMLS) accredited program. Minimum two years experience in a microbiology laboratory. Excellent comprehension, written and communication skills. Demonstrated professionalism within a laboratory setting. Strong commitment to customer service. Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask. Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team contributing to and promoting a positive work environment. Flexible with the ability to work within an environment of change. Demonstrated understanding of a philosophy of quality systems improvement. Equivalent qualifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous leadership experience is an asset. Proven experience with the RLS system. Previous document management experience in a laboratory setting. Proficiency in Epic Beaker and Microsoft applications. Problem bench experience in microbiology at Edmonton Base Lab is an asset.
