Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years' experience as Medical Laboratory Assistant. Inpatient phlebotomy and data entry experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity within the last year. Demonstrates excellent reliability, accuracy, productivity and quality of work in adherence to policies, procedures and performance standards. Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to: maintain composure in difficult situations and comprehend complex information easily; promote and lead a respectful team environment: collaborate with alternate healthcare teams to meet service goals; work independently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Strong time management skills with abilities to organize, manage priorities and complete tasks in an efficient manner. Demonstrates positive behaviors showing accountability and personal leadership, including change management, process improvement, and mentoring. Experience interpreting workflow visuals and ability to respond appropriately to meet turnaround times. Demonstrates initiative, strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Advanced user and problem-solving knowledge with Millennium and or EPIC. Proven proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs including Excel. Any Canadian equivalency to English 30 or 33 or CLBA score of Benchmark 8 completed within the last six months.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a Calgary Urban hospital Accession department within the last year. Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Experience with EPIC or hospital information systems. WHMIS, TDG. Experience in training and competency assessment. Courses or certificates in professional development, process improvement or change management. Experience in quality control procedures and accreditation. Proven ability to lead self through change.
