Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologist (CLXT) program with eligibility or active registration and practice permit with the College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologist will also be considered. Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory technical experience within the last 10 years. The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Excellent technical, analytical, problem solving and customer service skills. Location within the North zone is flexible. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and experience with POCT programs and instruments such as glucose meters, blood gas analyzers, and i-Stats. Working knowledge of AegisPOC POCT middleware and Epic in the APL/AHS setting. Experience with computer programs such as SoftTech, Microsoft Office and data compilation. Experience with instrument work-up and implementation of lab related projects. Experience working with multidisciplinary groups.
