Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Proven ability to work within a computer based environment. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, interdisciplinary team members of other departments in a fast pace changing environment. Demonstrate proficiency in core laboratory theory including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen procurement and handling, and transfusion medicine. Must be proficient in phlebotomy. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment in accordance with standard operating procedures. Demonstrated ability to organize, set priorities and multitask. Proven ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills. Ability to facilitate change positively by encouraging others and accepting change within the workplace. Demonstrate a customer service attitude and delivery of excellent customer service by effectively meeting customer (internal and external) client needs by means of building productive and respectful customer relations and taking responsibility for customer satisfaction. Demonstrated personal leadership, regardless of role, by leading themselves through change, building positive, respectful and collaborative working relationships. Recent experience within a Calgary Zone Transfusion Medicine Department. Recent Experience in Chemistry and Hematology.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience within Calgary Rural Zone laboratory preferred. Minimum 1 year Millennium LIS experience preferred.
