Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent, relevant experience in Biochemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine required. Recent experience in procurement duties including phlebotomy and ECG procedures required. Proven interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills in English are required. Excellent public relations and a service-oriented manner are essential. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, inter-disciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast-paced and changing environment. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, logical/methodical work habits, and demonstrated ability to work independently are required. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations, prioritize workload, and adapt to stressful situations are essential. Candidate must be well organized and flexible and demonstrate initiative to take on extra projects as required within the lab environment.
