Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Minimum one year recent experience in an Urban RRL hospital or practicum setting. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs. Working knowledge of Connect Care Beaker Module and/or Wellsky applications. Experience within the last year in Hematology, Chemistry and/or Transfusion Medicine. Able to run and troubleshoot two out of four instruments: Ortho Analyzers, Cobas Pro, Sysmex 9000 and ACL TOPS. Experience with current middleware on COBAS, Sysmex and/or Ortho. Any Canadian equivalency to English 30 or 33. Maintains competence through training and competency testing. Completes all required readings. Performs other duties as required.

Running of GeneXpert and reporting COVID/Flu results are considered assets to the position. Working knowledge of all instrumentation is preferred: Ortho Vision Swift, Cobas Pro, Sysmex 9000, ACL TOPs. Working knowledge of reading differentials. Promotes a team environment and respectful workplace. Completion of leadership courses is an asset. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
