Your Opportunity:
Alberta Precision Labs (APL) has a rewarding opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to join our team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Here you will perform all aspects of Semen Analysis testing for fertility and post vasectomy including interacting with patient before and after the collection of specimens. Additional duties include quality control, equipment troubleshooting and maintenance, patient records management and computer functions. You understand and maintain a working knowledge of analytical techniques and demonstrate excellent problem solving, decision making and trouble-shooting skills. This role will provide you the opportunity to utilize your understanding of quality control theory and application, and operating, maintaining and troubleshooting andrology related issues. This is a fast-paced role where you will get to utilize your organization and time management skills. You are an organized worker, a strong team player and you’re committed to providing quality patient care, utilizing your communication and interpersonal skills to deal courteously and tactfully with patients, team members, other APL, Alberta Health Services Staff as well as community clinicians. Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in semen analysis for fertility testing including retrograde and post vasectomy. Computer literacy and keyboarding skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in andrology techniques. Recent and continual experience in working directly with patients. Proficiency with the Epic/Beaker Laboratory Information Systems and general computer applications.
