The Anatomic Pathology - Esoteric lab at FMC is looking for an experienced or knowledgeable Laboratory Technologist I (MLT) to join us on a temporary, 16-month basis. The Esoteric department performs specialized testing in Renal, neuropathology and Electron Microscopy. We also perform Intra-operative (frozen sectioning;) prepare material for and perform special stains; and attend bedside renal collections! Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous experience or knowledge in technical aspects of Anatomic Pathology is required for this position (preference give to individuals with 2+ years of experience). Due to the nature of specimens (fresh/frozen), candidate must be able to wear lab gloves, eye/face/respiratory protection.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with Neuropathology, Renal or EM. Previous experience with renal collection is considered an asset.
