Your Opportunity:
Join the Edmonton Zone Anatomic Pathology team! With the primary site at the University of Alberta Hospital, and additional sites at Sturgeon Hospital, Royal Alex Hospital, and the Cross Cancer Institute, this position is an excellent opportunity for anyone who would like to perform a full range of technical processes associated with Anatomical Pathology. The successful candidate will perform a variety of routine and specialized Anatomical Pathology procedures. Duties include: grossing, specimen prep, frozen sections, embedding and microtomy, routine and specialized staining procedures, performing routine equipment maintenance, teaching students, and troubleshooting of various laboratory instruments and quality control activities. The candidate may also be required to be on-call to support urgent procedures after routine operational hours on a rotational basis. Other duties that may be assigned as appropriate. Anatomic Pathology is a hands-on department that is a great place to learn about patient care and see some of the most interesting cases that come to lab. We have a diverse team - with MLAs, MLTs, PAs, pathologists, residents, and many learners on site. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent and relevant experience in Anatomic Pathology.
Preferred Qualifications:Grossing and frozen section experience a major asset.
