Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have a good understanding of quality control theory and application, and operating, maintaining and troubleshooting hematology, coagulation and chemistry analyzers. Must have the ability to listen, comprehend and orally respond to or relay information, directions or questions in person, over the phone or in writing in an accurate and clear concise manner. Candidates must be well organized, flexible and able to prioritize and work under pressure. Must possess good technical problem solving skills. Computer literacy and keyboarding skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience in a high volume lab working with the Sysmex XN, Stago Evolution, Beckman Coulter DXC and DXI, performing differentials, CSF and Fluid analysis, Cellavision, student and new staff training. Proficiency with the Sunquest Laboratory Information Systems and general computer applications.
