Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Three years’ experience working as an MLT within the last five years. Experience in the development, review, and revision of policies, procedures, or forms. Strong knowledge and experience in use of electronic document management systems e.g. SoftTech DMS. Experience in guiding the gathering and collating of metric/KPI data to support the preparation of quality reports. Good understanding of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta standards for Diagnostic Laboratory Accreditation and knowledge of the steps an APL department can take to ensure that they are compliant with standards and prepared for an accreditation assessment. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft WORD skills. Basic Microsoft Excel, Visio and SharePoint skills. Proven organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated organizational, analytical reasoning, and decision-making skills. Attainment of a Quality Management System Certificate or equivalent post-secondary education in Quality Management Systems, or knowledge of Quality Management Systems. Experience in proficiency testing, competency assessment, non-conforming event reporting, and external assessments. Strong client focus with proven ability to effectively consult and collaborate with a variety of clients and management levels.
