Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate of an approved School of Medical Laboratory Technology or Science is required. CMLTA registration with a current MLT Practice Permit and evidence of the appropriate CSMLS certification is required. Five years current experience in a related clinical laboratory area is required. Core Lab experience within the last five years is preferred. Experience operating the following analyzers is preferred: Stago STA, Ortho Diagnostics Vitros 350, Siemens Advantus, and Sysmex XN Hematology analyzer. Recent phlebotomy experience is required. Laboratory Technologist II (LTII) is an organized, independent worker and strong team player committed to providing quality patient care. The LTII have maintained up to date technical skills and knowledge of current methodologies and/or instrumentation within your area. The LTII demonstrate excellent problem solving, decision making and troubleshooting skills. You are approachable and reliable. The LTII communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build and maintain relationships, facilitate teamwork, resolve conflict and manage change and resources. The LTII have proven reliability, initiative and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with the Sunquest Laboratory Information Systems and general computer applications is an asset. Beaker module experience of Epic is an asset. Familiarity with WellSky is preferred. Knowledge of ECG procedures an asset. A minimum of two years of recent supervisory experience is preferred.
