In this key leadership role, you will oversee the operational activities and management of the RDRHC laboratory. Working collaboratively with the operational and medical leadership team, internal and external partners, you will lead and promote significant APL initiatives, programs, and policies as you provide leadership for a team of over 190 laboratory staff. Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is the new, wholly-owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS) and is ready to deliver high-quality, responsive diagnostic lab services to Albertans as a part of the provincial healthcare system. Imagine a supportive employer with professional development opportunities and comprehensive benefits for you and your family. Red Deer is one of Alberta’s largest cities of approximately 100,000, located near the midpoint of the Calgary–Edmonton corridor. It has been named both a prime location for business and the “Cultural Capital of Canada.” Home to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, there are plenty of teams, sports, and activities for all ages, as well as local public, private, francophone, and post-secondary education options. With all the necessary amenities and a small town, friendly feel, you’ll love living and working in this beautiful city.

You effectively use change management processes, recognizing the impact on internal and external stakeholders, and engage them in the process. You will be responsible to plan work activities and to take independent action in managing the quality of work performed within the RDRHC. You foster a positive, high-performance, collaborative work environment with a strong commitment to quality, consistency, improvement, and innovation with a patient care focus.
