Description:

The Manager, Logistics, is a key leadership role in the delivery of Laboratory Services and reports directly to the Director, Provincial Logistics, Alberta Precision Laboratories. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the operational management and leadership of the activities, staff and resources in support of the vision, mission and strategic business plan of APL. The manager position provides direct support and counsel to the site logistic leadership team and staff on all aspects of laboratory operations and collaborates closely with other Logistics managers to ensure standardized implementation of best practices, policies and procedures, route optimization and fleet utilization across the province. The manager provides direction to the site supervisors, staff, participates in continual improvement initiatives, monitors operational outcomes, and takes appropriate action as required. In addition, the manager plays a key role in team building, staff engagement, and effective change management. The Manager develops and maintains strong working relationships with other Community services, Hospital Operations, HUB Lab managers, key site stakeholders within the designated Zone(s), as well as provincial stakeholders in order to provide operational leadership to Logistics Operations.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a related field is required (healthcare, business, supply chain). Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a management position overseeing operations for an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is required. Which includes developing and implementing strategic initiatives, experience in successfully managing budgets, leading quality improvement initiatives and leading teams.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.


Preferred Qualifications:

PROSCI, Project Management Professional (PMP), Process Excellence certifications are preferred. Leadership training courses/sessions are preferred. Previous experience in healthcare or logistics management is an asset.
