As a member of the interdisciplinary team, this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call, as assigned. Reporting directly to the on-site senior technologists, the CLXT will be responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying the regional policies and procedures. The scope of practice is a continuum ranging from basic to highly complex procedures and activities within the x-ray and laboratory departments. In accordance with Health Information Act (HIA), Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP) and other privacy legislation in effect, the incumbent shall comply at all times with APL / AHS’s Information Privacy and Information Security policies. Description:
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Proven ability to work within a computer based environment. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, interdisciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast pace changing environment. Ability to work independently when necessary. Proven ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills. Ability to facilitate change positively by encouraging others and accepting change within the workplace. Demonstrate a customer service attitude and delivery of excellent customer service by effectively meeting customer (internal and external) client needs by means of building productive and respectful customer relations and taking responsibility for customer satisfaction. Demonstrated personal leadership, regardless of role, by leading themselves through change, building positive, respectful and collaborative working relationships. Current BCLS-HCP certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience as a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist within a rural hospital facility is an asset.
