Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Equivalency is defined as completion of a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) and/or Combined Laboratory and Xray Technologist (CLXT) program in Canada; completion of a Medical Lab Technician/Technologist program outside of Canada; and/or MLT or CLXT students who have completed their phlebotomy training/rotation. Recent phlebotomy experience and specimen handling. Computer and keyboarding skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Good interpersonal skills, effective time management, and the ability to set priorities are an asset. The candidate selected should have the ability to listen, comprehend and orally respond to or relay information, directions, or questions in person, over the phone, or in writing in an accurate, clear and concise manner. The successful candidate should be adaptable to a changing environment and represent Zonal Laboratory Services in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.
