Your Opportunity:
This position will preferentially be staffed on night shift at the Northeast Community Health Centre. Alberta Precision Laboratories is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to join our dynamic team supporting both the Northeast Community Health Centre and East Edmonton Health Centre. This role offers the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, patient-focused environments. Primary Site: Northeast Community Health Centre (24/7 Emergency, Ambulatory Clinics & Diagnostic Imaging). Secondary Site: East Edmonton Health Centre (Daytime Ambulatory Clinics & Imaging; Evening Urgent Care). Key responsibilities include collect and process blood specimens (adults and children) using macro and micro phlebotomy techniques; perform ECGs and urinalysis; conduct data entry, requisition scanning, and sample processing for transport/testing; troubleshoot specimen issues and perform routine equipment maintenance; support outpatient, ambulatory clinic, emergency room, and waiting room collections.
Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated experience (worked or student practicum) performing phlebotomy, ECG, and urinalysis within the last 2 years. Completion of an accredited urinalysis course including theory and practical. Completion of an accredited ECG course including theory and practical.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience within the last 2 years using EPIC Beaker and Rover is strongly preferred. Experience within the last 2 years with specimen processing and handling is preferred. Experience using SPECTRE is beneficial.
