Your Opportunity:

The primary location for this position is the East Edmonton Health Centre. Alberta Precision Laboratories is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist I to join our dynamic team supporting the East Edmonton Health Centre and Northeast Community Health Centre. The East Edmonton Health Centre provides service to daytime Ambulatory Clinics & Imaging and evening Urgent Care departments. The Northeast Community Health Centre services 24/7 Emergency, Ambulatory Clinics & Diagnostic Imaging departments. This role offers the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, patient-focused environments. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist I, you will be responsible for the collecting and processing blood specimens, testing specimens, results analysis, troubleshooting and reporting of diagnostic samples within the core laboratory and transfusion medicine departments.

Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have demonstrated experience - professional and/or student practicum - with EPIC Beaker within the last year (12 months).

Preferred Qualifications:

Phlebotomy experience - professional and/or student practicum - within the last year (12 months) is strongly preferred. Experience with WellSky, Unity Real Time, Vitros XT 3400, Sysmex XN 550, Access 2, Elite Pro, ACL Top 350, Clinitek Advantus/Status, Osmo1 Osmometer, and Point of Care Instrumentation (Triage Meter, iSTAT) is recommended.
