Completion of a Master of Medical Laboratory Science degree or a related scientific discipline.
Additional Required Qualifications:Relevant post-baccalaureate education and experience may be considered as equivalent to MSc. Minimum two years' experience in molecular biology testing techniques or related laboratory experience including but not limited to: nucleic acid extraction, microscopy, PCR, genotyping, automated liquid handlers, microarray, Sanger and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) as well as related analytical software. Possess a significant degree of knowledge in molecular biology and genomics. Hands-on experience with NGS technology and analysis. Proficient use of database/spreadsheet applications. Experience in the development, validation, implementation and troubleshooting of assays. Proven project coordination and management skills. Experience working in a complex clinical and research team environment. Proven critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, planning, and decision-making skills. Strong attention to detail as well as superior organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize work and deliver accurate work under stressful conditions. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated interest in continuing education.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a Molecular Pathology or Molecular Hematology laboratory. Bioinformatic and/or software analysis experience (NGS or otherwise). Experience with coding (eg. python, R). Experience with clinical lab information systems.
